Folsom Boulevard Restaurant Held up at Gunpoint

A Folsom Boulevard Mexican restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, according to a recently released Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log.

A man came into the El Forastero eatery at 8949 Folsom Blvd. around 8 p.m. armed with a handgun, the crime log states. He allegedly forced an employee to empty the cash register and ran outside to a waiting car.

The suspect is described only as a white male between the ages of 20 and 25, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing about 200 pounds. No description was given for the driver.

Meth arrest made at park

A 28-year-old man was arrested on drug charges this week at Manlove Park, according to the crime log.

John Thomas was seen around 10 p.m. Tuesday in the park near Caldera Way and Starfire Drive. When stopped by authorities, Thomas allegedly threw a clear vial out of his pocket. Two baggies of methamphetamine were inside the vial, according to the crime log.

Thomas was arrested, but was released from jail Wednesday, sheriff's department records show.
