Firefighters Extinguish Blaze at Norcade Circle Home

Residents at the house near Rosemont were evacuated, and there were no injuries, the Sacramento Metro Fire District reports.

Firefighters put out a fire at an apartment building near Rosemont Wednesday morning, rescuing residents and even a turtle.

Smoke was emanating from 2828 Norcade Circle Unit B when firefighters arrived around 8:45 a.m., according to a press release and Tweets from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Firefighters evacuated residents, avoiding any injuries, then removed a pet turtle named Godzilla from the building, according to the Tweets.

The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical, the department reported.
