Early Morning Fire Keeps Carmichael Firefighters Busy

The following is a press release from the Sacramento Metro Fire District: 


At 6:18 a.m. [Monday] morning Metro Fire crews were dispatched for a report of fire from the roof of a single story home in the 1800 block of Wayside Lane in Carmichael, CA.  First arriving fire companies advised they had a working attic fire and immediately began a search of the interior of the home to assure all residents were evacuated.  A coordinated fire attack by 24 firefighters resulted in quick containment of the fire and provided for the protection of neighboring properties.

 

Primary damage to the property is to the roof and structural elements of the home with approximately $250,000.00 in structure and contents being saved.

At the time of this release Metro Fire personnel remain on the scene conducting salvage and overhaul operations of the contents of this home.  The Investigations Unit from Metro Fire is on the scene conducting origin and cause determinations.  It was learned the home owners are out of town on vacation.
