CHP Investigating Deadly Bradshaw Road Crash

A motorcyclist died after colliding into a truck near Rosemont, according to the CHP.

The following is a news release from the California Highway Patrol: 


The California Highway Patrol, East Sacramento Area Office, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Bradshaw Road northbound, north of Kiefer Boulevard, Thursday morning, January 23, 2014 at approximately 7:03 a.m.

A motorcyclist was traveling on Bradshaw Road northbound, north of Kiefer Boulevard, in the #2 lane. The truck driver... was driving a 2005 Freightliner 3 axle dump truck pulling a dump trailer, used for hauling gravel, and entering Bradshaw Rd. from the Granite Construction Gravel Plant, north of Kiefer Blvd. from the east side of the roadway, traveling in a westerly direction.

The dump truck was partially in the two-way center divider and #1 lane with its trailer in the #2 lane of Bradshaw Rd northbound. The motorcycle collided into the left side of the dump trailer, killing the motorcyclist.

The northbound lanes were closed for approximately three hours.The collision is still under investigation.
