Bicyclist in Critical Condition After Being Hit on Bradshaw

Northbound Bradshaw Road was temporarily closed.

Updated, 9:30 p.m. Tuesday:

A woman bicycling on Bradshaw Road was hit by a motorist just before 5 p.m. Tuesday and is currently in critical condition at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District spokesman Scott Cockrum said.

The incident happened in the middle of Bradshaw Road at the intersection of Gore Road, and northbound Bradshaw Road was temporarily closed. Traffic was diverted east down Business Park Drive.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said the woman's injuries are life threatening.

Ramos said as of 8:30 p.m., the woman was still in the hospital and still alive.

He said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
