Aug. 3 - Aug. 10: Arrest Made Due to Suspicious Circumstances Call

A parolee at large was arrested last week two miles outside of Rosemont - he still remains in Sacramento County Jail.

A 30-year-old man was arrested Aug. 3 after authorities responded to a suspicious circumstances call, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log.

After recieving the call, authorities contacted the 30-year-old man, Jason Wierschem, who rents a room at the home under question on the 2600 block of Rio Bravo Circle, the crime log states.

"The 'suspicious circumstances' were that the house was dark, with no lights on, yet the caller reported that sounds of things being broken could be heard from within," said sheriff's department spokesman Jason Ramos in an email. "The fact that this call was received by us around midnight warranted a response."

A routine records check of Wierschem revealed that he was a parolee at large and authorities took him into custody, the crime log states.

"His commitment offense was domestic violence - that's what he went to prison for," Ramos said.
