Several witnesses made an alleged burglary difficult for a man arrested in Rosemont last week, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
Daniel Lee Washington, 24, was arrested around 5 p.m. on April 24 while hiding in the Gold Creek Lane townhome complex near Mayhew and Goethe roads, the department said in a crime log.
Witnesses told the department they saw Washington leaving "a previously locked garage" belonging to one resident and the backyard of another resident; a burglary had just occured in the second resident's garage, according to the crime log.
"[Washington] was found hiding in the complex and was detained," the crime log states. "[Washington] had a glass punch inside his pants pocket."
Washington is currently being held at the sheriff's department's Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center on a felony charge of burglary, a misdemeanor charge of possessing burglar's tools, and a warrant from the Sacramento Regional Transit District for allegedly failing to appear at a court date on charges of not paying fares. His bail is set at $60,418 and his next court date is on Monday.
