Oct. 19: Anti-Bullying, Earthquake Drill Tomorrow, More

A look at what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Good morning and welcome to the halfway point of the week, Rosemont! There are just a few more days before the weekend, and here's what you have to look forward to today:

  1. Anti-bullying conference: Albert Einstein Middle School will hold an all-day with 100 students and 25 adults, aimed at stopping bullying.
  2. Get ready to be earthquake ready: Tomorrow is the start of the Great California Shakeout, a state-wide earthquake drill. The Sacramento City Unified School District and National Guard are among the local participants. Visitors to (2729 Prospect Dr.) between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. can receive a free earthquake preparedness kit, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
  3. Looking for a way to get some exercise this weekend? The Sacramento Kings will hold a 5K fun run at Power Balance Pavilion, including a costume contest and visit from Doug Christie. Click here for more information.
  4. Stock up on stamps: The cost of a stamp will go up by a penny next year, to 45 cents, according to the Washington Business Journal. The cost of post cards and international mail will also increase when the changes take effect Jan. 22, 2012.
