Rosemont Comes Out Against Crime

Rosemont celebrates National Night Out

Rosemont residents celebrated National Night Out earlier this week in an effort to build bonds, promote safety awareness and bolster crime prevention.

About six local groups participated in Tuesday night's activities, which included barbecues, ice cream socials and more.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials and others visited attendees.

According to an NNO news release, this annual national event helps to: 1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; 3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and 4) Send a message to criminals, letting them know that Rosemont is organized and fighting back.

NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program with benefits that will extend well beyond the one night.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
