The Rancho Cordova Library Garden Club meets the first
Friday of every month from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at the Library.  Exception in 2013:  The July 5th meeting is rescheduled to July 12th

Our meetings are directed towards Adults.  Both beginner and experienced gardeners can learn what can be done right now in their garden - take an armchair garden tour, and share tips and information with other gardeners.   There will be special speakers and projects occasionally.  Some of these speakers include Green Acres and Morningsun Herb Farm and some topics include
composting, designing your garden, and agritourism.  The following topic and speakers are scheduled for June and July:

June 7 – Joe Geoffrey Wood, Sacramento UC Master Gardener -  Discussion of how to combine form and function in the landscape.  Topics include planning and designing edible landscapes (including an overview of relevant legal policies), installing and maintaining them (including site/soil preparation, composting, irrigation, fertilizers and integrated pest management), and he’ll look at some plants that are particularly useful in edible landscaping.  He’ll also cover how to harvest and store edible produce as well as food safety guidelines.  As applicable, the presentation will focus on the differences between purely ornamental landscapes and those that incorporate edible functions.

July 12 – Nancy Dagle – Water conservation

The Rancho Cordova Branch Library is a branch of the Sacramento Public Library.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
