Rosemont Community Association to Elect Board Thursday

The group will meet Thursday evening.

The could soon be led by some new faces. 

The group will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at on Kiefer Boulevard, and is scheduled to elect board members for the 2011-12 year, according to an agenda.

Currently, the group is headed by president Doug Haaland and vice president Terry Dugan. , a problem-oriented policing officer for Rosemont and surrounding areas, recently volunteered to join the association's board of directors.

The association is also scheduled to discuss its project and information on Rosemont Plaza businesses.

Board asks for Rosemont to remain in same supervisory district

The Rosemont Community Association Board of Directors doesn't want to see this area , according to the group's July newsletter.

Some of the county's draft maps for districts showed Rosemont moving out of District 5, which must shrink to keep an even population with the other areas.

"RCA felt that it is very important that we stay unified in one district, and that in many ways we have more issues and concerns in common with areas on the south side of the river," the Rosemont Community Association newsletter stated.
