Jacquelyn Levy Elected Sacramento County School Board President

Retired from a 35-year career in education, Levy has served as a Sacramento County School Board Trustee since 2010.

The Sacramento County Board of Education elected Trustee Jacquelyn Levy, Area 3, to serve as Board President, at the July 16 meeting.

Levy has been a Board Trustee since 2010, serving as Vice President since last year. She most recently worked as principal at Cordova High School in the Folsom, before retiring after a 35 year career in education.

Area 3 represents the communities of Arden, Arden Oaks, Arden Park, Campus Commons, La Riviera, Rosemont Area, Town and Country Village, and portions of Carmichael and Foothill Farms. Area 3 also represents portions of the Sacramento City Unified, San Juan Unified, and Twin Rivers Unified school districts.

The offices of Board President and Vice President are held for one year. Trustees are elected for terms of four years

The Sacramento County Board of Education works with the County Superintendent to provide numerous instructional programs, teacher/administrator training and administrative services through the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE). The Board holds student expulsion and student inter-district transfer appeals and serves as the County Committee on School District Organization to hear transfers of territory and election issues.
