"Chris, with several homicides already under Rancho Cordova's belt in 2011, I do not feel annexation to Rancho is the answer for Rosemont. The Sheriff's Department will respond to calls in Rosemont, but as I mentioned above, it is up to us, the citizens of this community to watch for and report any suspected illegal activities. The more reports, the more likely the Sheriff's Department's presence will increase. You cannot expect moving an invisible line and declaring Rosemont apart of Rancho will solve our issues with crime. Be a good neighbor, be involved and be vigilant. We can either sit back, complain and say we are advocates against crime, or we can actually be advocates against crime. This starts with actually calling upon our law enforcement when we see suspicious activity. If there are never any calls, how does the Sheriff's Dept. know there is an issue? This would not change if we became part of Rancho."
