Capital Christian will begin playoff action by facing off against Calaveras at 4 p.m. Thursday at Billy Hebert Field in Stockton (3545 Alvarado Ave.).
The Cougars are undefeated in league play this season, and have an overall record of 23-3. Calaveras is 12-3 in league play and 13-10 overall.
"Yes, baseball has a great opportunity to go far, lots of talent," Capital Christian Athletic Director Suzanne Baker said in an email. "They just have a long time to wait and play."
The winner of next week's matchup will face the winner of a matchup betwen Escalon High School whichever team wins between Bret Harte-Lindhurst game.
