Bundle Up! Big Chill Hits Sacramento Region

Highs will remain in the 50s throughout the weekend.

Doesn't it seem like just yesterday we were stepping out in flip-flops and sundresses?

Fall—some might even say wintry—weather has hit the Sacramento region in earnest this week. The National Weather Service predicts highs in the 50s throughout the weekend, plummeting into the low-to-mid 30s Saturday night, with morning frost on Sunday.

"Residents should begin to take precautions to protect their plants, pets and property against near freezing temperatures," the NWS said in a special weather advisory for the area.

We could see showers and even thunderstorms Friday afternoon, with a slight chance of showers during the day Saturday, according to the NWS.

Temperatures are expected to inch up slightly into the low 60s on Monday, making the whole holiday weekend a great time to break out the hot chocolate, fuzzy slippers or whatever else helps you to feel cozy.
