100 Animals Adopted During 'Kitty Palooza'
The Sacramento County Animal Shelter saw 100 adoptions this weekend.
Eighty cats and 20 dogs were adopted during last weekend's "" event at the , staff said Monday in a post on Facebook.
That number surpassed last year's total, the post said. The event, the fifth annual, featured lower adoption fees and "starter kits" for cats.
Shelter staff also took the time to thank some of the volunteers who helped out with the event.

"As always, this event and these adoptions would not have been possible without the help and amazing dedication of our volunteers," the post read. "A big adoption event takes more than putting a sign on the fence out front to make it a success."
