Raley's Contract Talks Will be Mediated Next Week
The grocer will bring in a federal mediator to lead talks between itself and its labor union.
West Sacramento grocer Raley's, which has a store near Rosemont, will go into mediation with its union next week, The Sacramento Bee is reporting.
The two sides will try to end a contract dispute that has dragged on for months, with the grocery store pushing for concessions from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
"The grocer and union said they will meet with a federal mediator on May 14, 15 and 18," the Bee reported. "If no agreement is reached by June 6, the two sides agreed to extend the current contract on a day-to-day basis."
