Know of a Business in Town Opening or Closing?

Tell Patch who’s moving in, moving out and shaking things up in Rosemont.

Sprouts & Shutters is a business column that tracks store openings and closings in Rosemont.

Whether you're a business owner about to open a new establishment or a local resident who noticed a “Coming Soon” or “Out of Business” sign, tell Patch about it by sending us an email. Don't worry if you don't have all the details—tips are helpful, too, but please include a business name and city.

The information will be used for the Sprouts & Shutters column and to update the business directory.

A whole lot of businesses will be leaving soon. My brother in law and his business partner own the Rosemary Plaza. They have a year long plan to move all tenants out so they can develop the property into multi-family apartment housing with a portion reserved for govt assisted programs. It's a win-win. They will profit highly, and the community will be beautified.

If this is true, and I don't believe it is, then good luck re-zoning it. Ain't gonna happen. Rosemont is already dealing with too much high-density problems. I suggest you tell your "brother-in-law" to focus on lowering the rents and actually managing the property like an adult business owner and getting more tenants in there if he wants to make money. A development plan ain't gonna get him anything but a larger headache.

You are right Brad, I have to say I doubt it also.....It seems to me the plaza is getting more and more unkempt, grungy and dirty. The cost of renting and/or leasing is out of perspective with what they expect people to pay for it. It would be a positive move and a clever economic move to reduce the rent/price until there is a substantial improvement in the economy. Better than sitting empty. Plus..clean it up for crying out loud...the landscaping is beautiful, but it's becoming so dirty.
