The closures are part of an interchange project near Rosemont and will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. June 3-8.

Rosemont drivers may experience some delays on Highway 50 at Watt Avenue as overnight lane closures are planned.

According to the Sacramento County Department of Transportation, lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. June 3-8 for an interchange project.

From the Sacramento County Department of Transportation:

As part of construction activities for the Watt Avenue @ US- 50 Interchange Project, there will be alternating US-50 lane closures for five consecutive nights as follows: June 3 through June 8 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Additional information about lane closures is listed below.

US-50 Westbound and Eastbound Lanes:
Both westbound and eastbound US-50 will experience full lane closures during the week as follows:

Westbound:
Lane closures are scheduled to occur the evenings of 6/3, 6/4 and 6/5 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Eastbound:
Lane closures are scheduled to occur the evenings of 6/5, 6/6 and 6/7 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

When all main highway lanes are closed, motorists will be detoured to existing auxiliary lanes adjacent to US-50. Motorists will always have access to at least one through lane on US-50 during lane closure periods. Only one direction of US-50 will be affected at a time.

Delays:
Motorists may experience delays and are advised to drive through the construction area with caution.

Interchange Construction:
The Watt Avenue @ US-50 interchange project will modify the existing interchange to reduce congestion, install dedicated transit facilities, and improve access and safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. Project work during these closure evenings will include crews working each night to construct support beams called falsework. The falsework will serve as support for the new overcrossing until construction is complete, and the structure can support its own weight.

Your Patience is Appreciated:
Sacramento County understands the challenges and inconvenience that motorists will experience during the closure period. The patience and cooperation of the traveling public is appreciated as work to construct the interchange project continues.
