Were You in Monday's MLK March? Share Your Photos

A massive march was scheduled to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

For some, a federal holiday is a chance to relax, but thousands of Sacramento residents spent Monday morning doing something a little more active.

Monday marked the 31st annual Martin Luther King Jr. "March for the Dream," a Sacramento event celebrating King's ideals and visions.

The event traveled six miles from Grant High School, the Oak Park Community Center and Sacramento City College to the Sacramento Convention Center. It's organized by MLK365, a nonprofit organization that has also held several other events over the years. Sacramento City Unified School District Superintendent Jonathan Raymond is among its board members.
