Sold: How Much Rosemont Houses Went For in March

See what buyers paid for homes in the Rosemont area last month.

Spring is traditionally a busy time for real estate, and Rosemont kicked off this spring with 29 sales last month.

Bank-owned homes accounted for the majority of sales with 14 sold. Traditional sales were a close second with nine sales, and short sales made up the rest with six sales. The numbers for March are a good sign that home buyers are attracted to the Rosemont area.

If you are considering purchasing a home, there are a lot of incentives for first-time home buyers. The Federal Housing Administration is offering financing requiring a down payment of only 3.5 percent. Fannie Mae also offers a payment program for first-time buyers purchasing foreclosures called HomePath Financing, which is 3 percent down with no mortgage insurance. Fannie Mae is also offering a 3.5 percent credit to closing costs on its foreclosed properties for owner-occupied purchases closed on or before June 30.
