Oct. 6: Get Involved, Judge a Book by its Cover, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Hey, Rosemont! After yesterday’s storm, today promises to be sunnier! Make sure you enjoy it while you can because, with this wacky weather, who knows how long it might last! Check out some of the things going on in the area today—we’ve got some high school sports, a chance to get involved in the community and some library fun for teens.

  1. Let’s start things off today with some sports! The boys varsity soccer team over at will head over to Kennedy High today to take on the Cougars! You can catch the game at 3:30 p.m.
  2. And we can’t forget about ! The girls varsity golf team will head out to Bing Maloney Golf Course, 6801 Freeport Blvd., to tee off against Dixon High at 3:30 p.m.
  3. Learn more about the and get involved in your neighborhood! The RCA will hold a board meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at . Members of the community are welcome to attend to observe, ask questions and give input. .
  4. Come out to a couple local libraries today for some fun events! The is asking teens to Judge a Book by its Cover! From 4 to 5 p.m., teens can re-design the cover of their favorite book. All materials will be provided and designs will be displayed in the library to promote Teen Read Week.
  5. Tired of your teen spending their afternoon hours in front of the television? Send them to the Arden-Dimick Library today from 3 to 5 p.m. to get some much-needed social time. The library will allow teens to play Wii games like Rock Band with friends while enjoying some delicious snacks. And who knows, maybe your teen will pick up a new book before they leave!
