Oct. 3: Volleyball Nets, Storytime Canines, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Happy Monday, Rosemont! The first full week of October begins today, and the weather is already changing! Make sure you bust out those dusty umbrellas because it may get a bit wet out there! What’s going on in Rosemont today? You can get help going through a divorce, check out some high school sports, get a little knitting done in the company of other fiber fanatics or have your little one read to a furry one.

  1. Going through a divorce? Need a little help and some extra support? Join  every Monday evening until Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. for its Divorce Care Workshop. The workshop will take participants through the stages of divorce and grief and provide ideas on how to deal with the pain and challenges of divorce.
  2. The girls of will be busy today! First, the varsity golf team will head out to tee off against McClatchy High at 1 p.m. Later, then girls varsity volleyball team will face off against Burbank High at home at 6 p.m.
  3. And the ladies of Capital Christian will hit the road today, too. Their varsity volleyball team will head out to Marysville High to face off at the net at 6:30 p.m.
  4. Does your child struggle with reading? Bring him or her into the  for a special reading program. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., children can choose a book from the library, or bring their own, to read to a specially trained therapy dog. A special bonding experience that is sure to help your child’s reading skills improve.
  5. Want a little company to go with your knitting? Head to the Arden-Dimick Library today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for its Knitting and Nattering group. Share your tips with others and learn a few new tricks. All skill levels and ages are welcome.
