May 2: PTO Meeting, Volleyball, More

Happy Monday, Rosemont—and a happy May, too! How did you spend your May Day yesterday? Did you hang flowers on your neighbor’s door? Or did you do some gardening for yourself? Whatever you did, I’m sure you enjoyed the beautiful weather—and are ready to enjoy more of it! Today, you can get out of the house to check out a volleyball game, find out how you can help Golden Empire at a Parent-Teacher Organization meeting, catch up on the news you may have missed last week, let your child read to a new pal or take your knitting on the road.

  1. Get involved with your child’s school today! School will hold its monthly Parent-Teacher Organization meeting today at 2 p.m. Come out to learn how you can help and be involved in the school’s community.
  2. Start your week off with some sports! Catch some boys volleyball today at . The Cougars will be taking on West Campus High School, beginning at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity teams.
  3. There was a lot going on in Rosemont last week. Did you miss something? Check out our feature to catch up on all the news from last week. From vandals destroying parts of Sequoia Elementary’s community garden to the continuation of our series on community, make sure you know the latest news affecting Rosemont.
  4. Does your child struggle with reading? Take him or her to the Rancho Cordova Library today from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a unique reading program aimed to help kids build reading skills. Reading with the Dogs allows kids to read aloud to some new furry friends from the Lend a Heart Association.
  5. Attention knitters! If you’re looking for a way to get some inspiration and conversation with your latest knitting projects, you can join the knitting group at the Arden-Dimick Library! All ages and skill levels are welcome today at 6:30 p.m. to share and learn knitting knowledge and tricks.
