May 11: Volunteer Orientation, Free Dinner, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

It’s Wednesday! Today is also National Receptionists Day, so make sure to take the time out of your day to do something nice to thank the receptionist in your office! You can let him or her off early to check out a baseball game, or maybe take your friendly receptionist to dinner at Perko’s Café to support Rosemont High. What else is going on today? A volunteer orientation will be held for those interested in lending a hand at the county shelter, Cordova Church of the Nazarene will hold a free dinner for those in need and the Rancho Cordova Library invites you to come out and practice your French speaking skills with others.

  1. Looking to help out in the community? The is looking for you! The shelter will be holding a volunteer orientation today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. From cleaning cages and walking dogs to helping people find the perfect furry friend to take home, you can help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets.   2. Help the Rosemont High School Travel Club while taking the family out for dinner! Each time you and your family eat at , the restaurant will donate a percentage of your bill to the school! All you have to do is mention when you dine and you can help the Travel Club raise money for future trips.
  3. Don’t have the money to go out tonight? Head over to today from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a free dinner. The dinner is open to everyone, even if you just want to have a nice meal with others. The church offers free dinners every Wednesday, followed by fun activities for all ages.
  4. While ’s girls softball team will head to Dixon today, you can still catch your Cougars at home! The boys baseball team will face-off against Lindhurst High School today at 4 p.m.
  5. Are you learning French? A native speaker? From beginners to fluent speakers, the Rancho Cordova Library invites all French enthusiasts to practice speaking and reading basic French. The group will meet today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
