March 9: French Connection, Mardi-Paws, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

The spring weather is expected to shine today, so make sure you enjoy it before another storm rolls through Rosemont. Today, you can get involved at a PTSA meeting, speak your mind at the CRPD’s board meeting, practice your French at Rancho Cordova Library, find a new furry feline friend to take home or let your kids enjoy some of the many services the Arden-Dimick library has to offer!

  1. ’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association will be meeting today at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s office and they could use your help! The association is always looking for more volunteers, so if you have something to offer, stop by and help out!
  2. Are you learning French? Want to brush up on your skills? Visit the Rancho Cordova Library today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for its Library French Connection. The group will meet to practice speaking and reading French and native French speakers are encouraged to come out and help.
  3. The Cordova Recreation and Park District Board of Directors will meet today at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the main offices at 2197 Chase Dr. If you have an issue about a local park, visit the board and voice your opinion!   4. Are you looking to bring a new feline friend home? Come celebrate “Mardi-Paws” with the , the SSPCA and the City Animal Shelter! All shelters will be offering cat adoptions for half off until March 13. As an added bonus, all new kitty parents get free Mardi Gras beads when they take their furry friend home!
  5. From toddlers to teens, the Arden-Dimick Library has a program for your kids! Enjoy story time with your toddler today from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The interactive story time will also include music and arts and crafts. You can also let your teen study with friends from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Teen Study Hall. Teens can do their homework, work on group projects and get help finding information from the Teen Librarian.
