March 3: Family Dine-Out Night, Community Meeting, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

There’s something to look forward to as the storm continues to pass through on this wet Thursday—the fact that Friday is just around the corner! Enjoy your Thursday night by getting some pizza in honor of Sequoia Elementary, getting involved in the RCA, Rosemont High PTSA, or the Board of Education meetings or getting GED help at Golden Empire Elementary.

  1. Support Parent-Teacher Association today and eat out! The school will be hosting a family dine-out night tonight at . Just print out the flier here, bring it with you when you take your family to eat tonight from 5 to 9, and Strings will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from your meal to the PTA.
  2. Join the today as the group holds its monthly board meeting. The group will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at . All Rosemont residents and businesses are welcome to attend.
  3. Are you preparing for the GED? Need a little help? today at 6 p.m. for a free GED preparation class. The class runs every Tuesday and Thursday until June.   4. ’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association will hold a meeting tonight to plan fundraisers for their safe and sober grad nights for the 2011-12 classes. If you have an idea or would like to volunteer, head over to on Kiefer Boulevard tonight at 6:30 p.m. to help out.
  5. Let your voice be heard at the Sacramento City Unified School District’s Board of Education meeting today! Open session for the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and residents are encouraged to speak their mind about issues they’ve found in the schools.
