March 22: Food Basket Giveaway, Cyber Safety Presentation, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Slowly but surely, we’re making our way through the work week. While it may rain later tonight, the skies will hopefully be kind to us today with dry weather for most of the day. Take advantage of that by getting out today and enjoying one of the many things Rosemont has to offer, including a food basket giveaway, an open mic night, some GED preparation help, an afternoon Bible study and a way for parents to learn about the perils found in today’s technology age.

  1. Times can be tough these days, and wants to help those who may need a little help making ends meet. Every fourth Tuesday of the month, the church partners with the Sacramento Downtown Food Basket to give some groceries to those in need. If you feel that you could use the extra help in keeping your grocery costs down, visit the church between 8 a.m. to noon to get your free basket of groceries.
  2. Looking to get into the groove tonight? Check out open mic night at . If you have a band that would like to play, or if you just want to see some new music live, you can check out the pizza place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The open mic night is held every Tuesday night.
  3. Are you preparing for the GED? Need a little help? today at 6 p.m. for a free GED preparation class. The class runs every Tuesday and Thursday until June.   4. Ladies, if you’re looking an afternoon of religious study and companionship, look no further than . The church holds a Ladies Bible Study every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and all women are welcome to attend.
  5. Living in today’s technology age can be difficult for a parent, with a whole new set of problems for kids and teenagers, things like cyber-bullying and "sexting." If you feel you need a little education on how to help your kids avoid the perils of the high-tech world, visit Rio Americano High School today at 7 p.m. for a free presentation on how to deal with these problems and more. Detective Steven Emert of the Sacramento Valley High Tech Crimes Task Force will be on hand to teach parents about the dangers of technology.
