Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Good morning, Rosemont! Looking for something to do today? We’ve got you covered! From free food baskets and Bible study to open mic night and a community garden meeting, there’s plenty of things to do today. Just remember to bring an umbrella, as thunderstorms (yes, thunderstorms—had enough of this strange weather yet?) are expected to hit Sacramento today.

  1. Times can be tough these days, and  wants to help those who may need a little help making ends meet. Every fourth Tuesday of the month, the church partners with the Sacramento Downtown Food Basket to give some groceries to those in need. If you feel that you could use the extra help in keeping your grocery costs down, visit the church between 8 a.m. to noon to get your free basket of groceries.
  2. Do you have a green thumb? Need a good gardening challenge? Head over to today for a meeting about the community garden. You can find out how you can help the school cultivate and grow a beautiful garden for students and members of the community. The meeting will take place on the secondary side of the school behind the fourth grade classrooms at 6 p.m. For more information, or to RSVP for the meeting, contact Andrea Raymond at apltreadv@yahoo.com.
  3. Are you a great singer? Have a band? Or do you have some strange talent that you want to showcase? Check out  from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for its weekly open mic night. Don’t want to be on stage? Come anyway, and see what kind of talent Rosemont has to offer!
  4. Ladies, if you’re looking an afternoon of religious study and companionship, look no further than . The church holds a Ladies Bible Study every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and all women are welcome to attend.
  5. Tired of your teen spending their afternoon hours in front of the television? Send them to the Arden-Dimick Library today from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to get some much-needed social time. The library will allow teens to play Wii games like Rock Band with friends while enjoying some delicious snacks. And who knows, maybe your teens will pick up a new book before they leave!
