June 21: Big Man Camp, Rotary Breakfast, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

After the crazy weather earlier this month, it seems that summer is finally here to stay, which begs the question: What do you plan to do this summer? Even if you don’t have any summer plans, you can have some fun right here in Rosemont, sending your teen basketball fiend to a fun and educational camp, getting an afternoon of Bible study in, checking out the local talent, having breakfast in Rancho Cordova or sending your teens to the library for some game time.

  1. ’s new basketball coach, Terry Battenberg, is offering up something for players in the off-season. The coach’s new Advanced Big Man Camp starts today at Capital Christian. Tailored to high school players, the camp promises to help experienced players block, score and pass more effectively. The camp starts today and runs from 9 a.m. to noon every day until Thursday.   2. Ladies, if you’re looking an afternoon of religious study and companionship, look no further than . The church holds a Ladies Bible Study every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and all women are welcome to attend.
  3. Are you a great singer? Have a band? Or do you have some strange talent that you want to showcase? Check out  from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for their weekly open mic night. Don’t want to be on stage? Come anyway, and see what kind of talent Rosemont has to offer!
  4. Enjoy breakfast this morning with the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova Sunrise. The club meets every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Cordova Restaurant and Casino, 2801 Prospect Park Dr. It welcomes all guests to have some good food and learn more about what the Rotary Club is all about.
  5. Tired of your teen spending their afternoon hours in front of the television? Send them to the Arden-Dimick Library today from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to get some much-needed social time. The library will allow teens to play Wii games like Rock Band with friends while enjoying some delicious snacks. And who knows, maybe your teens will pick up a new book before they leave!
