July 5: Public Swim, Breakfast, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

I hope you enjoyed your three-day holiday weekend because unfortunately, it's back to the daily grind today. But don't worry—you can still take a break from work to enjoy what Rosemont has to offer today, like a public swim session at Rosemont High, a class for climbers, job search tips and tricks, breakfast with the Rotary Club and Wii gaming for your teens.

  1. Pack up the kids and the sunscreen and head to today for the Cordova Recreation and Park District's public swim session. From now until August 12, the public is invited to swim in the school's pool from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is just $2 per per person, per visit, and if you're going to frequent the pool you can get a 10-punch card for $15, so head to Rosemont High and beat the heat!

  2. Are you a novice climber? Want to "climb" the ranks? Check out Peak Adventures on the Sacramento State campus for its Belay 101 class. The class will teach climbers how to use their safety equipment to keep their climbing partner safe and secure. The two-hour class begins at 7 p.m. and costs $12 for students, $16 for affiliates and $18 for the general public.
