July 26: Get Some Groceries, Find that Perfect Job, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Hey, Rosemont! The weather is beautiful today and, as always, we have some things for you to check out! There are a lot of weekly things going on in Rosemont today—including a Bible study for women, a summer work party for the Sequoia Community Garden, job seeking help and breakfast with the Rancho Cordova Rotary. And it’s also the fourth Tuesday of the month, so head to Atonement Church if you need some help with extra groceries.

  1. Ladies, if you’re looking an afternoon of religious study and companionship, look no further than . The church holds a Ladies Bible Study every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and all women are welcome to attende.
  2. Times can be tough these days, and wants to help those who may need a little help making ends meet. Every fourth Tuesday of the month, the church partners with the Sacramento Downtown Food Basket to give some groceries to those in need. If you feel that you could use the extra help in keeping your grocery costs down, visit the church between 8 a.m. to noon to get your free basket of groceries.
  3. Having trouble finding that perfect job? The  has many resources for you to utilize. Stop by the library today from noon to 2 p.m. for some one-on-one help. Volunteers at the library will help you discover and use the library’s free job search tool, JobNow, as well as answer your questions and help you make your résumé shine.
  4. Enjoy breakfast this morning with the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova Sunrise. The club meets every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Cordova Restaurant and Casino, 2801 Prospect Park Dr. It welcomes all guests to have some good food and learn more about what the Rotary Club is all about.
  5. Put on your hat and gloves and head over to for its Community Garden Summer Work Party. Help weed, water and plant and make the garden grow into something children and the community can enjoy. Community garden workers will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the primary side of the school by the 4th R.
