July 21: Garden Party, Buried Treasure, More

Get those kids off the couch today, Rosemont! With evening bike rides, garden work parties, international songs and map-making to do, there’s no time for couch potatoes! Take the family out today to enjoy everything Rosemont has to offer. And later, you can leave the kids with a babysitter to enjoy a parents’ night out with dinner and some networking with neighbors.

1. Get involved to keep your neighborhood safe! The will host its quarterly Neighborhood Watch meeting tonight at 7 at . The RCA will help teach residents how to fight crime in their neighborhood by providing information on the tools and training needed to keep crime at bay. The RCA will also allow neighbors to network with each other to create a stronger community.
2. Looking to get a little exercise with the family? Visit  this evening from 5:30 to 8. The safety center will be holding Family Bike Nights every Thursday evening this summer, so there’s plenty of chances to enjoy a safe bike ride on a cool summer evening.
3. Once again, it’s time to party in the garden! The  Community Garden will hold a work party tonight at 6:30 p.m. Come out and lend a hand while you enjoy the cool summer evening with your green thumbs. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years of age.
4. Grab the kids and join Pam Donkin at the today. At 4 p.m., the award-winning singer/songwriter will take kids on a musical journey across the globe, teaching them words in multiple languages as she goes.
5. X marks the spot today at the ! At 2 p.m., the library will invite children to create their own treasure map using real quills and ink. Maybe your child’s treasure map will lead to a hidden treasure!
