July 18: Swimming in the Sun, Knitting Fun, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Up and at ‘em today, Rosemont! It’s the beginning of the week and time to make the most of the Rosemont neighborhood. Today, you can take the kids for a swim, catch up on the news from last week, help Rosemont High’s travel club raise money, join a knitting circle or find help for overeating with other women.

  1. Pack up the kids and the sunscreen and head to  today for the Cordova Recreation and Park District's public swim session. From now until August 12, the public is invited to swim in the school's pool from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is just $2 per per person, per visit, and if you're going to frequent the pool you can get a 10-punch card for $15, so head to Rosemont High and beat the heat!
  2. There was a lot going on in Rosemont last week. Did you miss something? Check out our feature to catch up on all the news from last week. From the police patrols at Albert Einstein to the upcoming Rosemont Community Celebration, make sure you know the latest news affecting Rosemont.
  3. Help the Rosemont High School Travel Club while taking the family out for dinner! Each time you and your family eat at , the restaurant will donate a percentage of your bill to the school! All you have to do is mention  when you dine and you can help the Travel Club raise money for future trips.
  4. Want a little company to go with your knitting? Head to the Arden-Dimick Library today from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for its Knitting and Nattering group. Share your tips with others and learn a few new tricks. All skill levels and ages are welcome.
  5. If you have a problem with overeating, there’s help for you at the Cordova Neighborhood Church, 10600 Coloma Rd. Every Monday, the church hosts a free women’s meeting of Overeaters Anonymous from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
