Juggling Festival at G.W. Carver this Weekend

The Damento Fest! will be held Friday through Sunday.

Objects will be flying through the air just east of Rosemont all weekend, but they won't be coming from Mather Air Field.

A Sacramento and Davis-based club will hold a regional juggling festival Friday through Sunday at George Washington Carver School of Arts and Sciences in Rancho Cordova.

The Damento Fest! will feature performers tossing clubs, balls and fire batons, but it's not just for experts. Free beginner's juggling workshops will be held each hour, on the hour, from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, from 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

“Teaching juggling is a big part of a juggling festival,” a press release quoted Damento President Marcos Hernandez as saying. “The whole northern California juggling community is excited that we are back, and we really love to share what we know.”

The marquee community show on Saturday night will be hosted by Dan Holzman, half of the Raspyni Brothers, a group that has performed for President Ronald Reagan and around the world.
