A blood drive benefiting the non-profit Sacramento Blood Source will be held Thursday at the Youth Detention Facility. The Sacramento County probation department is hosting the event as part of the county's 2012 Employee Giving Program.
"Giving blood is one of the most generous acts of kindness one human being can do for another," an email from the county stated. "Did you know one donation of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives and only three teaspoons of blood can save a baby's life?"
