Church Seeks Past Members for Anniversary Event

Atonement Lutheran Church, located at 9242 Kiefer Blvd., is celebrating its 50th anniversary later this year.

Are you a former member of Atonement Lutheran Church?

If so, the church wants to invite you to a special event later this year.  The church, located at 9242 Kiefer Blvd., is celebrating its 50th anniversary on November 4.

The event will start with a worship service at 10 a.m., followed by lunch at the Dante Club on Fair Oaks Blvd.  Past ministers will be present, including founding Pastor James Carr.

During the past 50 years, Atonement has offered a variety of ministries and community activites for its members, including Bible study, choir and knitting groups that make items for the homeless.

The church has also become an important gathering place in Rosemont.

Over the years, several Rosement community groups have used the church as a meeting place.  Neighborhood watch groups, Girl Scouts and other organizations have all gathered at Atonement.

If you're a former Atonement member or would like to attend the anniversary event, please contact Diane Truax at 916-363-5663 or by e-mail at mistypl@aol.com.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
