Aug. 26: High School Sports, LEGO Maniacs, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Happy Friday, Rosemont! The weekend is upon us—how do you plan to celebrate? If you need some ideas, we’ve got you covered! There are plenty of high school sports going on today—from volleyball and soccer at home, to an away football game! You can also check out some live music at Strings or let your child build towering LEGO towers at the library!

  1. Start your weekend with some fun and exciting high school sports! ’s girls varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams will be hosting Vacaville Christian High today in a scrimmage match. The action starts at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity team.
  2. The girls volleyball team at will also be competing today! The junior varsity and varsity teams will face off against Monterey Trail High at home beginning at 5 p.m. today. Varsity will hit the court at 6 p.m.  
  3. And we can’t forget about the boys! Capital Christian’s football team will hit the road tonight to play against Golden Sierra High School. Hit the road to catch the junior varsity game at 5:30 p.m. Varsity will take to the field at 7:30 p.m. The school’s boys soccer team will also hit the field today, facing Bradshaw at home at 6 p.m.
  4. It’s Friday night, and you know what that means! That’s right,  is offering its weekly live music. Both today and tomorrow, the eatery will host a variety of bands and musicians to entertain you while you eat. The music starts 6 p.m.
  5. Let your child’s imagination run wild! The Rancho Cordova Library will host LEGO mania today, letting children create anything they can imagine. From fire-breathing dragons to elaborate castles, your child will have the opportunity to test his or her building skills from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today.
