Aug. 25: BBQ Bonanza, Grand Opening, More

A happy Thursday to you, Rosemont! Are you ready for the weekend yet? Don’t worry, it’s just a day away now, but if you can’t wait, you can have a little fun today! There’s a tennis match at Rosemont High, a free family bike night, help from the school district to enroll your child, a barbecue for neighbors and a grand opening celebration!

  1. The Lady Wolverines will be at it once again today! ’s girls tennis team will host Christian Brothers High today. Contact the school at 916-228-5844 for start time and get out there to support your Wolverines!
  2. Looking to get a little exercise with the family? Visit  this evening from 5:30 - 8. The safety center will be holding Family Bike Nights every Thursday evening this summer, so there are plenty of chances to enjoy a safe bike ride on a cool summer evening.
  3. Still need to transfer or enroll your child for school? The Sacramento City Unified School District is helping residents by offering a free bus service from local schools, including Sequoia Elementary to the Serna Center. There, you can enroll your child, transfer schools and make sure your child is up-to-date on all immunizations. To see a full schedule of drop offs and pick ups, .
  4. Update: The Cordova Recreation and Park District Barbecue Bonanza has been canceled.
  5. A new children’s museum will have its grand opening today in Rancho Cordova! The Sacramento Children’s Museum will be opening to the public today at 11 a.m. General admission to the museum is $7, those older than 60 and military members will receive a $1 and museum members and kids younger than 1 get in for free!
