April 7: Baseball, School Board Meeting, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

Watch out for  the raindrops that are supposed to fall as you head out for work this morning. And don’t worry, they should be gone by the middle of the day, so you can enjoy things like a free GED class, Epic Life, a board of education meeting or a baseball, swimming or softball game.

  1.  wants to help you prepare for that dreaded GED. Visit the school today at 6 p.m. for a free GED preparation class. The class runs every Tuesday and Thursday until June. If you have any questions about the class, contact Norm Frankenberger at norm-frankenberger@sac-city.k12.ca.us or by phone at 916-228-5890 or 916-704-5520.
  2. Are you a young adult (around the ages of 18 through 30) looking for a positive religious influence in your life? Join ’s Epic Life community today at 7 p.m. for an evening of music, faith and community.
  3. Head over to this afternoon and take in a game! The boys varsity baseball team will be hosting Marysville High School at 4 p.m.
  4. Or you could make your way to and see a few different teams competing, all at around the same time! The co-ed varsity swim team will start the afternoon off as it takes on Florin High School at 3 p.m. Later, the girls softball team will take the field at 3:45 p.m. to battle Freedom High School. Last (but definitely not least), the boys varsity baseball team will start its game 15 minutes later, at 4 p.m., to host Sacramento Charter High School.
  5. Let your voice be heard at the Sacramento City Unified School District’s Board of Education meeting today! Open session for the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and residents are encouraged to speak their mind about issues they’ve found in the schools. Click here for more details on the meeting, including an agenda. You can also find a live video broadcast of the meeting if you are unable to make it but still want to see what your Board of Education is up to.
