April 14: Baseball, Crazy Critters, More

Find out what's happening in and around Rosemont today.

It seems as if April is flying by as we near the middle of the month on this cloudy Thursday. With May looming in the distance, it’s time to start thinking about springtime fun! Today, you can celebrate the spring with baseball or soccer games, story time with your toddlers and, for the school-aged children out there, a theater production and some puppet critters.

  1. Now that the rain has gone away, it’s time to enjoy some outdoor sports! ’s boys varsity baseball team will host Mesa Verde High School today at 4 p.m. The girls soccer team will also be playing today, taking on Marysville High School at the same time.
  2. You can also head out to today for some baseball and soccer! The Wolverines will go head to head against Luther Burbank High School in a 4 p.m. baseball game, and the girls soccer team will face Sacramento High School at the same time.
  3. There’s also plenty of things going on in neighboring libraries today. The Arden-Dimick Library will host a half-hour of preschool story time for tots from 3 to 5 years of age at 10 a.m., featuring books, music, arts and crafts and, of course, some entertaining and engaging feltboard stories.
  4. If your little ones are past their preschool years, you can take them to the Arden-Dimick Library at 4 p.m. for an exciting and educational theater production. Presented by Activated Storytellers, the production will feature magical water tales and take volunteers from the audience for a delightful and engaging time.
  5. Is your elementary school student interested in animals? Take him or her to the Arcade Library today at 4 p.m. to meet some “Crazy Critters!” Puppeteer Tony Borders will take children on a fun animal adventure, sharing animal facts with his puppet pals.
