Northwestern Mutual awards $10,000 grant to Junior Achievement of Sacramento

Volunteers help better their communities by donating their time and talents to improving the lives of others. In the spirit of volunteerism, Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, is recognizing Dimitrios Kiniris for his work with Junior Achievement of Sacramento as part of the company’s 19th annual Community Service Program. Kiniris is a financial advisor at Northwestern Mutual – Sacramento.

The award honors Northwestern Mutual financial professionals that demonstrate exemplary service with a local nonprofit. In addition, the award secures a $10,000 grant for the nonprofit the representative supports.

Junior Achievement of Sacramento is a partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach their full potential. Kiniris has served as a volunteer teacher and role model for more than 10 years, empowering students with financial literacy and entrepreneurship workshops.

“I volunteer with Junior Achievement to pay forward the wonderful parenting I received as a child,” said Kiniris. “I’m fortunate for all that I have, and want to help bring others the learning opportunities I was blessed to have at such a young age.”

Junior Achievement of Sacramento will use the grant to fund programs which focus on ensuring at-risk youth reach adulthood ready for work and prepared to manage themselves financially.

Northwestern Mutual commends Dimitrios on being a community partner and example to all of us.”

The Community Service Program honors 25 financial professionals throughout the country who consistently work as exceptional volunteers in their communities. Since 1995, the company has donated more than $3 million to nonprofits on behalf of its representatives.
