Video: D&D Return to Rosemont High

A marching band class helped inspire one of the musicians behind a YouTube craze.

D&D, Dominique and Darius Logan, were a part of the "Cat Daddy" music video that has topped 60 million views on YouTube. Their own video, "Now You See Me, Now You Don't," is currently featured on the front page of the video site World Star Hip Hop and has 9 million views on that site.

On Thursday, the pair performed and took questions from students at Rosemont High School, where Dominique Logan played in the and graduated in 2010.

"He was always interested in this," said Band Director Robin Wilmer. "He was always looking for ways to express himself musically."

Only students in the school's Creative and Performing Arts Academy were invited to the performance, and Wilmer said she hoped they would see "that the arts are important and that everyday people can succeed and you just have to follow your passion."

The two performers, along with their father and his nonprofit Dayspring Outreach, recently donated 200 sweatshirts to the school.

"They've been a godsend, especially for our foster kids," Wilmer said.

Their father, Waymon Logan, later said he always expected his sons to succeed in sports or business.

"We had no idea that was going to happen–that they would take off," he said by phone.

Waymon Logan, who still lives in Rosemont, said he hopes his sons' music will bring a smile to the face of kids and teach them it's OK to be intelligent–that "you don't always have to be a gang-banger."
