Supervisors to Choose New District Boundaries Tuesday

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will discuss planned new boundaries this week.

Rosemont could be on its way to a this week.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will meet at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the redistricting that must happen every decade, and are scheduled to pick from one of five proposals. That chosen map will then return later for final adoption.

Rosemont is currently a part of Supervisor Don Nottoli's District 5, which must shrink by about 70,000 residents in order to stay equal with the other areas.

Fifteen people attended an outreach meeting at the Rancho Cordova Library in June, according to the county. Much of the comments about Rosemont urged the county to keep it all in one district.

Of the five proposals, two have Rosemont switching to District 3, which is currently represented by Susan Peters. Two have Rosemont staying in Nottoli's District 5, and one has the area split between two districts.

In June, the wrote a letter to the county asking that this area be left in District 5, where it has "more in common, both now and in the future, with the other communities present and likely to be in the Fifth District..."

The board of supervisors is scheduled to take up the item at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at its chambers, 700 H St.
