Rosemont Patch Wants Your Letters to the Editor

Rosemont Patch would like to publish views from the public on a regular basis.

Since Rosemont Patch launched more than four months ago, I've been excited to see the amount of participation from some of the nearly 23,000 people living in Rosemont. Folks share , post here and on our Facebook page and create announcements and events. I've also spoken in person and through email with many of you, about stories we should be covering or ways we can improve.

There's another way you can get involved, though it may not immediately be apparent from the layout of the site. So I would like to take a moment to extend an invitation to every member of the community to write letters to the editor about issues of concern.

I am more than happy to publish these letters regularly. Letters should be no more than 300 words. If you'd like to write longer "guest columns," please send those along as well.

All submissions should include your full name, address and telephone number for verification purposes (only your name will be published). Send them to me at cody.kitaura@patch.com with the subject line "letter to the editor" or "guest column." You can include relevant photographs with your message if you're so inclined, but that's completely optional.

The more Rosemont Patch serves as a space for community dialogue, the more useful the site will be. So next time something bothers you, or moves you, about how things work in Rosemont, consider taking a moment to send a letter to Patch. Chances are, you're not the only one who's noticed.

Here's a topic to get you started: What gives Rosemont a sense of community? Is it the families, the youth sports, the schools or something else? This is a topic we'll be discussing in the future, and I'd like to hear your thoughts now. Submit your letters to cody.kitaura@patch.com.
