A Rosemont High School athlete will receive some recognition at Thursday's meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education.
John Fitzgerald, a member of the Wolverines varsity football team and track team, will lead the pledge of allegiance and be honored at Thursday's meeting.
He has a 3.9 GPA, takes advanced placement classes and volunteers his time to be a math tutor, according to a biography provided by district staff. He also plans to join the United States Air Force after high school.
Thursday's meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at the Serna Center, 5735 47th Ave.
