Do You Work for Any of These State Agencies?

These 10 departments face the ax under the governor's new budget, The Sacramento Business Journal reports.

 

Rosemont is home to many state workers (and some state offices), so we're always on the lookout for news about those who keep California running.

On Friday, The Sacramento Business Journal published a slideshow of 10 state departments that face the ax under Gov. Jerry Brown's proposed 2012-13 budget.

Here's a list of the 10 agencies, which deal with everything from mental health to traffic safety. Read the original article to see what would happen to the functions they perform.

  7. Office of Privacy Protection
  8. Department of Mental Health
  9. Office of Traffic Safety
  10. Commission on the Status of Women

And just what does the Commission on the Status of Women do???? Is the Commission all "old school" men?

Hi Andrea, it's a bit of an odd name and I had definitely never heard of that commission before this.

The commission says that "for 47 years its mission has been to ensure that the voices of California’s 18.7 million women are fully represented in Sacramento. Its motto is, 'No Woman Forgotten.' "
