April 26: Food Baskets, Cheer Tryouts, More

Happy Tuesday, Rosemont! Did you know that today is National Kids & Pets Day? It’s true! So if you have a little one who has a furry friend, celebrate the bond between them. You can also celebrate Rosemont today by checking out one of the many things going on in the neighborhood! Rosemont High will have a baseball and a soccer game today, Capital Christian is now looking for some cheerleaders to join the team, Atonement church will be holding their monthly food basket giveaway, Golden Empire will once again hold a GED prep class and Friendship church will have their weekly Bible study for women.

1. Times can be tough these days, and wants to help those who may need a little help making ends meet. Every fourth Tuesday of the month, the church partners with the Sacramento Downtown Food Basket to give some groceries to those in need. If you feel that you could use the extra help in keeping your grocery costs down, visit the church between 8 a.m. to noon to get your free basket of groceries.
2. Our Wolverines will be competing once again today! Cheer on the girls soccer team as they take on Luther Burbank High School at 4 p.m., or enjoy the action as the boys baseball team goes head-to-head with Florin High School, also at 4 p.m.
3. Does your Cougar have dreams of cheerleading? Starting today, your teen will get the chance to audition for ’s cheerleading squad. If he or she doesn’t get the chance to try out today, don’t fret—auditions will be held every day until Friday. Location and times of tryouts are yet to be determined, but you or your teen can contact Julie Filer at 916-856-5600 for more information.
4. Are you preparing for the GED? Need a little help? Visit today at 6 p.m. for a free GED preparation class. The class runs every Tuesday and Thursday until June. 5. Ladies, if you’re looking an afternoon of religious study and companionship, look no further than . The church holds a Ladies Bible Study every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and all women are welcome to attend.
